Re-Partitioning Ideos X5

As the title suggests this post will let you know how to re-partition the ideos x5. Thanks to Geno.Kolar to making this happen and allowing us to have extra space for our apps. After re-partitioning the split up will be, 1.2 gb data + 1.46 gb internal sd. You don't need to follow the process again once you have flashed a new rom, its permanent even with the official rom. After the partition there is no data loss and all is same as before with just the re-partition so its very easy and safe.


How to re-partition Ideos x5:
  1. Download the partition upgrade package here.
  2. Place it in your sd card and make sure your it has around 600 mb of free space.
  3. Backup your internal 2G data as this will erase it.
  4. Disable all the partitioning apps if you are using
  5. Boot into recovery (volume up + power button).
  6. You should not wipe/erase anything in this process unlike installing a custom rom, directly head to install zip from sd files.
  7. Locate the downloaded partition.zip file on the sd card and install it.
  8. Once installed, Choose reboot to recovery (Reboot system now is different to reboot to recovery, it reboots you to recovery again rather than to your phone).
  9. Again don't wipe/erase anything and install the partition.zip file again like you did the last time.
  10. Once installed the second time, choose reboot system now.
  11. That's it you'll see all the data is there, just the partition has changed


If at any point of time you feel like returning to your original partition then repeat the same process with this file instead of the earlier mentioned file.

    Its inetrnal sd card
    and internal 2g meant your sim card data...

    i put the zip file on internal sd but when i go to recovery mode,i cant find it,so i put it into sd card,
    s i try and it worked
    then i install new rom that is oxygen,when i go to storage,i can see only sd card and internal storage,but where is the internal sd card,but the internal storage increase to 1.18 gb,
    plis help,

    do you use x5 settings app??
    it present by default i miui, is that the same case for oxygen??
    if yes then goto the "Internal/External Storage Selection" option
    select external storage from the dropbox at the top
    and then check the "Enable UMS on secondary storage device"

    now when you'll connect your phone to your pc you'll have the access to the internal sd as well

      i have install that app,
      after i click on enable the ums,it says comple,reboot,then i reboot,but i check it back it back to initial??
      i reboot by pressing the power button for 5 s,then then i choose reboot phone and reebot,but it still the same...

      you can't access both internal and external sd at the same time...
      with the above mentioned steps you can access both of them in simultaneously by plugging it into your computer

      to switch between storage just change the storage preference from the dropbox without checking the UMS

      so everytime i want to acces to extrnl i have to change it to extrnl and i Have to reboot??btw how to restore back my contact

      ya that is correct...
      your sim card data erases, so you had to backup them if were in your sim card

    its an app which miui provides by default ( which also enables us to overclock the processor)
    try finding the "Enable UMS on secondary storage device" option on oxygen, till then i'll try posting a similar app for oxygen.

    i cannot that " Enable UMS"
    but i found HWUser Data on my file manager,i think that the hwuser data is internal sd because i found on xda sying that the hwuser data is the internal data,i tried move some file into it,and i see that the memory does not change in sd and internal memory
    but when i connected the usb,i ONLY can used the sd card..
    btw how i gonna restore back my contact??

    I TRIED same on ideos x5 (2.3)
    but ut says:
    signature verification failed
